Bob Boyle (Chief Executive Officer and Founder)
Bob Boyle has 17 years industry experience with key expertise gained from his previous positions held at Astex Therapeutics, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Cambridge Discovery Chemistry and Pfizer.
Stuart Travers (Chief Operating Officer and Founder)
Stuart has twenty years industrial experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors focusing on drug discovery and has previously held positions in Paradigm Therapeutics, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Cambridge Discovery Chemistry and Glaxo Wellcome.
Ashok Venkitaraman (Non-Executive Director)
Ashok is the Ursula Zoellner Professor of Cancer Research in the University of Cambridge Department of Oncology, Director-elect of the Medical Research Council's Cancer Cell Unit, and leads a new initiative in Cambridge focused on drug development for cancer. He works extensively with industry, serving on the scientific advisory boards of Cambridge Antibody Technology and Astex Therapeutics.
Gavin Simpson (Invester & Founder)
Gavin Simpson co-founded Sentinel Oncology in 2005 and has worked in the financial services industry for over 18 years.
Gavin is currently a portfolio Manager at Tiresias Capital Ltd, an Investment Management firm whose assets under management currently exceed $730m. Prior to entering the financial services industry Gavin worked for Ernst & Young as a chartered accountant. Gavin has a BAcc (Hons) Accounting and Business Finance from the University of Dundee and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
Geraldine Rogers (Director)
Geraldine has ten years Industrial experience gained in both multinational and start up companies spanning the pharmaceutical and Ag-Biotech sectors. She joined the University in 1994 as Business Manager for Prof. Chris Lowe at the Institute of Biotechnology and later moved to the Technology Transfer Office. Geraldine moved to the Challenge Fund in 2000 as Investment Manager for Life Science opportunities and stepped up to Head the Cambridge Enterprise Seed Funds in September 2007. She is responsible for managing the entire Cambridge Enterprise Group portfolio of companies, which span all technology sectors. Geraldine has a first degree in Microbiology, a PhD in Biochemistry and holds the full FSA Investment Management Certificate. Geraldine is a former lecturer on the University's Masters of Bioscience Enterprise programme.
John Dixon (Non-exec Director)
John Dixon has 36 years experience in Pharmaceutical Research & Development across several therapeutic areas. He was Head of Medicinal Chemistry for 20 years at Fisons, Vice President of Pre Clinical R&D at Astra Charnwood for 4 years and Vice President of Drug Discovery at AstraZeneca Charnwood for 9 years. As VP of AstraZeneca Charnwood he delivered 35 candidate drugs, most recently in the respiratory area. Currently several Charnwood compounds are in Phase II and Phase III development. Brilinta/Brilique (ticagrelor), a potential blockbuster for thrombotic disorders, achieved marketing approval in Europe and final FDA approval on 20 July 2011.
Upon retirement from AstraZeneca in July 2008, John became Director of JD International Consulting Ltd. His consultancies cover most aspects of drug discovery and early development in most therapy areas and in all types of organisations around the world.
