May 2006Sentinel Oncology are pleased to announce the award of funding from the Cambridge University Challenge Fund, in return for which the Challenge Fund will take an equity stake in the company. The new funding will allow Sentinel Oncology to accelerate the development of novel drug candidates from their unique Oncology specific research and medicinal chemistry platforms. April 2006Sentinel Oncology are pleased to announce that Professor Ashok Venkitaraman from the University of Cambridge will chair the Scientific Advisory Board, and will join the Board as a non-executive Director.
Prof. Venkitaraman is a world-leading expert in cancer biology, who has made many important discoveries concerning the molecular mechanisms of DNA repair and mitotic regulation in cancers of the breast and other epithelial tissues. Prof. Venkitaraman holds the Ursula Zoellner Professorship of Cancer Research at the University, and is Deputy Director of the MRC Cancer Cell Unit there. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, London, and an elected member of the EMBO European academy. The appointment of Prof. Venkitaraman further strengthens Sentinel's ability to deliver small molecule pre-clinical drug candidates from their unique discovery platform specifically designed to target solid tumours with areas of hypoxia.

The grant will be used to develop a novel drug discovery platform to deliver pre-clinical drug candidates for the treatment of hypoxic solid tumours in Humans.
August 2005Sentinel Oncology are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Fiona Marshall and Professor Peter Wardman to their Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Marshall has many years of experience in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology sectors. Professor Wardman, Deputy Director of the Gray Cancer Research Institute, is a world expert in the study of small molecules in solid tumours and their interaction with ionising radiation.
